Welcome!
Glad you could make it. Look around a while, I'll try to make it interesting.
First, I thought I'd tell you a bit of what's up with my music.
I write about two things: 1) love, and 2) what I believe. That's it. I have no reason to write about anything else. In that respect, everything I write is autobiographical. And I'll use any form of music to convey my thoughts. My goal in everything I write is that you'll know my heart and the deepest things I'm trying to convey, even if there were no lyrics.
I try to see things in black and white: no gray, murky areas in real life. I like things to be uncomplicated, without the confusing smoke screens that are constantly thrown at us everyday. Aren't you tired of that crap? I am. I refuse to accept that stuff, I'm convinced it is a lie. I don't like weeds in my garden. Thinking this way works for me so I write about it.
As far as love, every love song I write is about my lovely wife, no one else. She's "that girl", "like a train", and all that.
Pretty simple, I guess. I like it that way.
Oh yeah, if you go to "Music" and click on the title of a song, you can read the lyrics and some of the thoughts that inspired me to write it.
Thanks for listening. I'd like to meet you all someday soon.
Peace, love, Rockabluesic
Robert
PS. I'd also like to request a favor: Please spread the word about Roadman's Hammer, the CD and the website. Thanks!

I HAVE LONG SUSPECTED THIS! - September 12, 2008
Now, I must tell you I have long suspected this. I have seen evidence of it but not wanting to sound like I'm tooting my own horn, have told no one. I thought it better to let others speak.
Well, it has been documented and I feel no sense of modesty need prevent me from passing it on to you. What you do with this information is up to you. I, for one, just like to help people. Perhaps you feel the same way.
No less an authority than the book
"A Glossary of Words and Phrases
used in S.E. Worcestershire,
together with some of the
Sayings, Customs, Superstitions, Charms, & c.
common in that district"
(volume 30)
declares
"A roadman's sweat is good for sore eyes."
So I got that going for me. But it gets even better: I have transferred this quality to my album, "Roadman's Hammer" and expanded it to bring great benefit to the ears as well.
Now, I want you all to try this and report back to me. Maybe some of your comments will appear during an all-night infomercial aired on Fred's cable channel in Kenosha, Wisconsin!
Don't thank me, it's all part of the job.
Peace, Love, Rockabluesic,
Robert
I'd like your help!! - June 27, 2008
I've been preparing promotional materials and mailing them to various magazines for review considerations. The same with some of the more Indie-friendly radio stations.
If you have any ideas where I might send promo material in your area, please let me know. I'd appreciate any help you can give.
Thanks and love,
Robert
Influences and likes - June 9, 2008
I thought I would be remiss not to acknowledge some of the greats that have influenced my music and life plus those that I currently enjoy. I suppose the easiest way would be for me to list them:

The Beatles, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Led Zeppelin, John Lennon, Delta and Chicago Blues, Irish & English Folk, Roots Music, George Harrison, Ry Cooder, Otis Redding, Phil Manzanera, and most of all my Father.
I ENJOY:
Richard Thompson, the ANALYST, T Bone (Burnett and the steak), Jet, Alison Krauss, Gillian Welch, Natalie Merchant, June Tabor and the June Tabor Dancers, Son Volt, Coldplay, Eno, Dylan, The Chieftains, Howlin' Wolf, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Eminem, Americana, Dub music, Laredos, Eimerman (The Nerk Twins), Ralph Stanley, anything done honestly and well, HEARING FROM YOU. Did I mention barbecue, corn bread, and watermelon?
The Roadman’s Award-Winning Rockabluesic Barbecue Sauce - June 9, 2008
I actually did win an award with my sauce when I lived in Chicago. I've tweaked it and improved it over the years.
Ingredients:
1 32-36 oz. bottle of ketchup
¼ cup vinegar
¼ cup molasses
¼ cup Louisiana-style hot sauce (or add to taste)
3 tablespoons mustard
1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon black pepper
Optional (but recommended) ingredients:
¼ cup whisky (the whisky will evaporate but will give it a nice flavor.)
¼ cup finely chopped onions
Mix all ingredients in a large saucepan.
Heat on top of stove on low setting for about an hour, stirring occasionally. It's OK to let it simmer very lightly but don't bring it to a boil.
This works well with pork (ribs especially), chicken, beef, and Rockabluesic. I like it with Muddy Waters. Mmm-mmm!
Tell me how you like it.
Robert
